What we do

YourLocal offers a profitable solution to food waste by enabling restaurants to sell their surplus food to local customers right before it goes to waste. With 40% of food at the retail and consumer level typically being wasted, this enables restaurants to own the process & improve their bottom line by selling food that would otherwise be tossed, drive in new customers interested in a great deal on quality food, and keeps food out of the landfill.

As a social enterprise, YourLocal also empowers consumers. Instead of being disconnected from the problem, with a simple purchase, each buyer recognizes how small incremental actions can lead to positive change. Alongside this consumer behavior, YourLocal has begun to elevate the conversation and perception of what 'food waste' means and shift the dialogue to ensure more businesses and individuals take action.

Account Executive in Brooklyn

As an Account Executive, you’ll help restaurants across Brooklyn & Manhattan like Di Fara’s Pizza, Bedford Cheese Shop, and Marlow & Daughters provide an alternative to tossing their unsold food out by signing them onto YourLocal. You'll have the opportunity to significantly impact the growth of our company and help redefine the way restaurants utilize their surplus.

How you will make an impact

  • You’ll drive the full sales cycle, continuously seeking creative strategies to attain new business
  • You’ll surface exciting new revenue opportunities and be responsible for cultivating a healthy pipeline in partnership with our Brand Ambassadors & Marketing strategy
  • You’ll develop a deep expertise of YourLocal, our food waste solution, and the food & restaurant industry
  • You’ll help restaurants rethink the value of their excess, recommending custom solutions that support their buying trends and customer behavior adding immediate value to their business
  • You’ll do whatever it takes to exceed your monthly & quarterly goals
  • You’ll be YourLocal’s first boots on the ground - creating new partnerships, blazing new trails, and ensuring that our social enterprise successfully grows into new regions
